He left his homeland with his family in June 1911 for Bremen, Germany. On July
20th they landed in Galveston, TX. At 22 (1918), he passed the citizenship
test with high honors. He and his wife honeymooned in Galveston, TX. There
they saw the ship (the Hannover) that brought them to the USA.
