Spiers Conway Robinson [Male] b. 28 NOV 1901 Prince George County, Virginia, USA - d. 12 NOV 1970 Richmond, Virginia, USA

He served in the Virginia AB US Navy - WWI

Here is a story that I thought of and it happened long after World War I. Uncle Conway Spiers and Howard Russell, both were in the Navy and they had a big parade in New York and all the military personal were to parade. Well, it was hot and they told them to put on their winter blues. So the men got dressed and lined up then they gave them swords to wear. Well Howard Russell was not as big as the other men and every step he took his sword bumped the ground. It was hot and that sword did not help any, so some little girl yelled out and told people she choose the little sailor with the bumping sword. Howard had just about had it, so he stood in the middle of the street and was cussing to fit the band. The parade parted around him and went their merry way and two SP's came and picked up Howard Russell and of course you know where he went. He served his time and went back to the Ship and of course Uncle Conway was waiting for him. Howard then went to the Army and Uncle Conway went into the Merchant Marines. Good time was had by all. Love Marian
