A native of Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John O'Brien and Ruth S. Spiers, and the widow of Charles F. Parrish.

She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Parker and husband, Joseph, of Charles City, and Shannon Gregory of Hopewell; a son, Donald Gregory of Hopewell; three grandchildren, Derrick Gregory, Gage Rackley and Spiers Middlebrook; four brothers, John Edward Spiers, Charles Spiers, Grant "Dickie" Spiers, and Coleman "Pete" Spiers; a sister, Mary Ann Parker; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2004, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
