Spiers Lawrence Earl [Male] b. 29 MAY 1894 - d. 26 OCT 1967
Lawrence worked for the Southern Railroad Master Machinist, Masonic Lodge #14 AFAM, Machinist Lodge #10, Woodman of the World and was also a charter member of the Manchester Gang.
One time Daddy and Captain West confederate veteran decided to make some beer and it was hot summer time. Well they had a good time making it and put it in the out house and in the night when all was quiet it would go off, Pow,pow, at first it worried us and then it was funny.
One of our neighbors Webster was a brakeman for the railroad and he went to work. He was on top of the train walking the cars and he looked up and saw another engine coming up the same tracks they were on. Well, he thought he would jump, and he looked down and there was Main Street, they were just leaving the yards. So he could not jump so he said he laid down on top of the box car and held on tight, until the two engines collided. He had firey red hair, I'll bet his temper let loose then.
