Brown Susannah B. [Female] b. 12 AUG 1791 Dinwiddie Co, Virginia, USA - d. 1823 Dinwiddie Co, Virginia, USA
She died in the winter of 1823.
From the diary of Dr. J.B.S. "Of my mother I can recollect but little as I was
between five and six of age at her death. But from the best that I have been
able to learn of her character, she was one of those straightforward,
unimpeachable, moral ladies, but never a member of any church. Her last
illness was very lingering. She was complaining of being sick for some time
before she was confined to her bed of death, but she continued gradually
sinking until she died. It was generally believed, under the influence of slow
poison administered by a negro man who it was generally believed had poisoned
several individuals, of both colors, for very slight offences. Susannah Brown
died the early part of the year in 1823, the 32nd year of her life."
There were 6 children from her marriage to Jesse Spiers (5 boys and 1 girl).
