Leonard PITTS was born about 1896 in Torquay, England. He died on 30 Mar 1969 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Leonard E. Pitts, 73, of 138 Polk Street, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born in Torquay, England, he was a son of the late Frederick W. and Bessie (Way) Pitts. He served in the British Army during World War I. A retired interior decorator/painter, he was a member of Painters and Decorators Local 947. Surviving are his widow, Bertha May (Hausman) Pitts; a son, John F. Pitts, Middletown; Alford Pitts, Tacoma, Wash.; three grandchildren; four nieces and four nephews. The body is at the Stein Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 2 p.m. by Rev. Vernon I. Naugle.
