CUMBERLAND Virginia Lee (Robertson) Speir, 76, of Cumberland, died Monday, died June 16, 2003, at her residence. Born July 14, 1926, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Edward C. and Margaret (Bagley) Robertson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Allen J. Speir; and one brother, William F. Robertson. Mrs. Speir was a 1944 graduate of Allegany High School. She had worked at Allegany Instrument Co., P.P.G., and the Schwab Co. Survivors include her daughter, Lana K. Valentine and husband Byron, Cumberland; one son, Larry J. Speir and wife Karen, Glen Rock, Pa.; one brother, Edward C. Robertson and wife Del, Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Patricia Stull, Harrisburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Kay L. Speir, Cumberland, Brian Speir and wife Wendy, Glenville, Pa., and Michael Speir, New York; two great-grandsons, Joseph A. Speir and Matthew J. Speir; a special friend, Kelly King, Grantsville; and her faithful companion, Ellie. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dallas Forren officiating. Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap.
