George W. Wallick, 72, of RD 2, Dover, died at 8:45 a.m. today in his home following a 2-year illness. Born at Barrs Mills, he was the son of Washington and Magadelene Allison Wallick and had lived his entire life in Tuscarawas County. He had resided the past 50 years in the current residence. He retired in 1948 after 43 years' service with the Robinson Clay Products Co. He was a former member of the Tuscarawas County Board of Education, serving that body for 12 years, and was a member of the Dover Township Board of Education for 20 years. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Strasburg and its Sunshine Class, and a member of the Dover Eagles. Surviving are his widow, the former Lizzie Garber with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage April 7; one son, Garver of RD 2, Dover; 2 daughters, Mrs. Homer (Helen) Korns of RD 2 and Mrs. Donald (Erma) Neff, both of Dover: 5 sisters, Mrs. Clara Steffe of RD 2, Dover, Mrs. Alvin Wilhelm of Canton, Mrs. John Weber of Buffalo and Mrs. Lulu Benson and Mrs. Eugene Quillan, both of New Philadelphia; 3 brothers, Smiley, Wellington and Bryan, all of RD 2. Dover: 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. (Slow Time) in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg with Rev. Russell Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery there. Friends may call at the Steffe Funeral Home at Strasburg Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. (Slow Time). The Daily Reporter, Dover, Ohio, May 11, 1960
