[Mardi Kelly -Strahan Total.FTW]

Strahan book p 108: Neal used his boat often to transport farm goods across the river. There was a Negro man living nearby who very often "borrowed" Neal's boat without permission, leaving Neal stranded all day. This feud went on between them for some time until one day, Neal happened upon the man who was taking his boat off and Neal shot and killed him. In those days, these "frontier justice" types of circumstances were not unusual as very little law existed to either protect or prosecute.
