James Vardaman Lee, Jr. relates that he was told that Katie died in childbirth. She is buried in the Jerusalem Baptist Cemetery, Pumpkin Center, La., in a plot along with "Mama" Florence Touchstone, June 29, 1885, April 23, 1964, Married December 2, 1906, "Papa" John Robert Bigner, October 30, 1887, January 15, 1964. These are headstone inscriptions transcribed by James Vardaman Lee, Jr., April 2001, and documented via photographs. It is considered highly likely that Florence and John are the parents of Katie.

JOHN J. MEDLIN
FT. WORTH, Texas - John J. Medlin, 86, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, at Columbia Medical Plaza, Ft. Worth.
He was a native of Republic, Mo. and former resident of Ponchatoula, a U. S. Navy veteran and was retired from Cummins Sales and Service as branch manager of the Gulf Coast division.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Lee Medlin; son, Robert G. Martin, both of Ft. Worth; sisters, Catherine Groober, Billings, Mo.; two brothers, Warren Medlin, Republic, Mo., Lawrence Medlin, Ulysses, Kan.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son, Hammond, Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral at 1 p.m. The Rev. Paul Driscoll will conduct the service, and burial will be in Ponchatoula Cemetery.

Homer Lee
Funeral services for Homer Lee, 76, were Nov. 25, 1995, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula.
Lee, a native of Tylertown, was the son of Earnie and Gussie Dunkin Lee. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 47.
He is survived by a brother, Milton Lee of Ponchatoula. A brother, Doyle Lee, preceded him in death.
Burial was in Rushing Cemetery with Capps Funeral Home in charge of graveside services.
