Etha Irene Barnes

Funeral services for Etha Irene Barnes, 89, were Dec. 12, 1998, at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Byron Wilkinson officiating.
Mrs. Barnes, a resident of Billdora Nursing Home, died at Walthall General Hospital, Dec. 9, 1998. She was a housewife.
She was born Aug. 11, 1909, at Walthall County, daughter of the late Ivan and Carrie Dillon Lee. She married Ruben Barnes, who preceded her in death. A son, Altus Holmes also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by three sons, Randolph Holmes, Johnny M. Holmes and Brinon L. Dillon, all of Tylertown; one daughter, Cheryl Elam of Tylertown; two brothers, Ellis Lee of Franklinton, La., and W. A. Lee of Seattle, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Randy Holmes, Johnny Holmes, Joey Holmes, Lance Elam, Chance Elam and David Holmes.
Burial was in Morris Cemetery with Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in charge.

Thad Eugene Lee
Funeral services for Thad Eugene Lee, 81, were held Feb. 24, 1992, at Hartman-Hughes Chapel with Eld. Lonnie Mozingo officiating.
He died Feb. 22, 1992, at East Jefferson Hospital, Metairie, La.
He was born Oct. 25, 1910, at Tylertown, son of Ivan Lee and Carrie Dillon Lee. He married Mabel Johnson Lee who survives him.
Other survivors include two daughters Faye Cahill of Jefferson, La., Joyce Eskine of Metairie, La.; two brothers, Ellis Lee of Franklinton, Wayne A. Lee of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters Ethel Barnes of Osyka, Mary Thompson of Franklinton; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He was a shipfitter and shipyard worker.
Pallbearers were Warren Kahill, Michael Eskine, Donald Brock Jr., Ronald Brock, Bill Dillon, Ed Johnson.
Burial was in Rushing Cemetery with Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Rebecca Fortenberry

Funeral services for Rebecca Jane Dillon Fortenberry, 88, were Dec. 18, 1998, at Capps Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Douglas Lee and Rev. Mike Sutton officiating.
She died Dec. 16, 1998, at Walthall General Hospital.
Mrs. Fortenberry was a seamstress and a member of Union Baptist Church.
Featured in a 1992 Times article, Mrs. Fortenberry said she walked to work at the old Hapel's plant for 23 years until her retirement at age 62.
She was born Sept. 15, 1910, at Tylertown, daughter of the late Marion and Maggie Irene Morris Lee. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank K. Dillon.
Survivors include five children, Buster "Buck" Dillon, Irene Dillon Magee, Joyce Dillon Fitch, Wanzie Dillon Yates and Ava Dillon Brumfield; Debbie Smith, a granddaughter who she reared as a daughter; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Roger Breeland, Jonathan Smith, Bobby Magee, Allen Magee, Jamie Bridges and Jeremy Parham.
Honorary pallbearers were Brian Magee and Bradley Magee.
Burial was in Morris Cemetery with Capps Funeral Home in charge.
