Spiers, Ellis Vanderbilt (b. 23 MAY 1888, d. 7 AUG 1966)
Note: In the 1920 Pearl River County, Ms. Census Ellis was listed as a 30 yr old housepainter living in beat 5 with his wife age 25. He lived near his uncle Andrew Jackson Spiers.
Ellis was raised by his grandparents Alex and Artimisia Spiers since his father died when he was a small child.
ellis had no children of their own but adopted a brother and sister from the Children's Home in Jackson.

Clark lived in Byrd's Chapel up Oscar Smith road. After the first curve about 200 yards on the left you would have turnedleft and went about 3/4 of a mile up on a high hill.
In the 1900 census Clark was listed as a 50 yr old farmer living in beat 4 with wife Martha Amacker, age 40, married 18 yrs, having 8 children, all were living at home.
In the 1910 census the yr of his death, Clark was listed as a 60 yr old widowed farmer living beat 4 with a post office at Chinquapin, Ms. with 5 of his children, Mattie age 15, Minnie age 13, J.C. age 11, Jay age 10 and Bessie age 4.

Note: The story goes that grandpa got mad at grandma for NOT waiting ONE more day to give birth to my dad. Dad was born Sept.7,1932. After that grandpa really did not have much to do with my dad.
