Portrait and Biographical Album of Vermilion and Edgar Counties, Il. 1889 says
that he was a native of Virgina. Settled in Vigo County, In., but later entered
land in Parke County, In.. He owned 360 acres of improved land.
In 1809, at age 6, moved to Washington County, Pa.
Moved to the farm in Parke County, In. in 1830.

Note: Changed spelling of Kunkle to Konkle in Page County, Iowa. In 1889 the family
moved from Shambaugh, Iowa, to Logan Precinct in Frontier Co, in a covered
wagon and homesteaded a farm (SE 1/4 30-7-25). Moved to Scottsbluff,Ne. in
1900 and homesteaded the Nine Mile Creek area east of town.
One of Scottsbluff, Ne. founders. Daughters were known for their beauty and
intellect. Lived in Amity Twsp., Section 12 (Ne.). One of the founders of
Scottsbluff, Ne. between 1883 and 1890.
