John and Linda Franklin are grandparents again. Their daughter,
Gabrielle and her husband, Steve Olguin, are the proud parents of
a new baby daughter [one of a kind, as the other four "grands" are
boys!] whose name is Ashlynn Danielle. She was born approx. 3:15pm
Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, weighing in at 7 lbs. 9 ozs. and 20.5" in
length. Mother and daughter are doing fine. She watched her first
Dallas Cowboys game on Monday nite in her father's lap, so her
aculturation is beginning immediately. She is guaranteed to be
severely spoiled if her dad or g-parents have anything to do with i

A member of the Copeland Gang along with his son James Oliver Bilbo. The Copeland gang had been robbing people, rustling, etc. all over Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.

He was known by the name of "Wash" Bilbo. He is first seen in tax records of Hancock County, Mississippi in 1841 with location own as Biloxi V. Also, seen in Marion County tax records.

From the Byrd Family History by Robert Earl Byrd 1975 Page 90 When Wiley was about 4 years of age, Sabra Ann had Wiley riding behind her on horseback near their home.... Wolf Creek, near Old Olive Church 5 miles west of Lumberton Mississippi...and she witnessed a gunfight in which Cal Wages of the notorious Wages-Copeland clan of outlaws killed George Washington Bilbo and severely wounded James Oliver Bilbo. It happened at about sunrise. James Oliver Bilbo's thigh was broken and he fell of his horse in front of Warren Strahan's house. Wages had pursed him but Warren Strahan came out of the house as Wages rode up, and Wages decided not to
knife Bilbo to death. The members of the clan fled...

James Bilbo married Caroline Cameron in Marion County Miss. He was killed in a shoot out with the Copeland Clan. During the same battle, his brother George Washington Bilbo, was shot in the hip which left him with a bad limp

BILBO,Theodore [27 DEC 1848] [25 DEC 1917] H/O Malissia 157 [bilbo.FTW]

Theodore G. Bilbo lived very near Springhill Baptist Church, and was an active member for many years before moving to Poplarville late in his life. He was a deacon and wife a deaconess of the church when it was organized in 1879. Theodore owned a large amount of land in the Springhill Community and some of it still belongs to his heirs today.
