1910 Pike County, Ms., Census show Earnest to be a twin of Earnie.

In the Rushing Cemetery, Walthall County, Mississippi, there is buried a Herman Lee, with the following headstone dates: born April 22, 1919, died June 21, 1937. Ben Holiday reported in a phone call (May 16, 2000) to this writer that Nola Morris (Swan) says that this individual is a son of Earnest W. Lee. This writer has no data to substantiate this relationship. He is not in the 1920 Pike County, Ms., Census in the Earnest Lee household, unless he and the one listed as J. C. (1 yr. old) are one and the same. Another possibility is that he and the one named Clyde are one and the same (my info, just the name "Clyde," came from James W. Lee, Jr., and his wife Betty). If this were the case then he should have been listed on the 1920 Census if he were born April 22, 1919. Another possibility that this writer sees is that Herman was adopted. Still another possibility is that he was born after the 1920 Census and his headstone birth date is erroneous - this doesn't seem likely. The answer may come with the release of the 1930 Census for review in the year 2002 unless some other source of information is received.
