Anna Missouri Burge/Burgess

There is a mystery behind Anna. We are not sure her name is Anna Missouri Burgess or Anna Missouri Burge. Most records show her as a Burgess. But have heard she may be a Burge. It has something to do with some old family lore that the Burge and Burgess' were all one family under Burgess. Then there was a rift of some sort and one portion split off from the family and started calling themselves Burge.

Anyone know?

Thanks for your help.

information on anne missouri burge b 1831 can be found in the curtis jacobs records that were at the beaugard par libary in deridder, la but i think that they have since been moved. I talked with a mr johnson in starks la awhile back about this and he told me curtis was wrong that anne was a bunch.I believe curtis was right in that anne was a wife to andrew j ashworth and that they were married aug 6,1847 which would make her 16 at the time. curtis also told me that the ashworth brothers came to this area from nc and that they were quite well off in nc

Hello. I should be able to help you. I am her great-great-great granddaughter (Anna>Selia>Alice>Bula; my gm's in order), but I can't. I couldn't find anything at all on this lady. Does anyone know her race? Most all of our people (Clarks, Ashworths, and Perkins) of SW Louisiana are listed as Mulattto on census. Love ta hear from you!

Hello again and thanks. I skipped out on the last 2 messages last night and just now got them. Would you happen to know if any of the others you mentioned are researching the Ashworth/Perkins/Clark families? I've gotten pretty far with them and what I have may be of some help to them. I also have a couple of great stories handed down = ) I'm new at this myself. Although I started this about 2 yrs ago, I had to drop it several times as things came up along the way. I live in Texas just across the Sabine river from Louisianna. Actually quite close to the areaa in which all those people lived. We've visited numerous cemetaries and a Homecoming at a church co-founded by my gg-grandfather Samuel Perkins. I met a lady that frequents the GenForum. Her name is Claudia Doyle
