Dr. Charles Iseard Bray, 67, head of animal industry research, died of a heart attack at 8:45 this morning in Prescott Hall. Dr. Bray was on his way to an appointment with Dr. William G. Taggart, director of the Agricultural Experiment Station, when he suffered the attack. He had planned to drive to the annual Louisiana Cattlemen's Association meeting in Alexandria after his talk with Taggart.

Following the coroner's report of death from coronary thrombosis, the body was removed to Welsh Funeral Home. Dr. Bray is survived by a daughter, Mrs. C.H. Rounds, the former Ruth Elizabeth Bray of 908 Camelia Avenue, in whose home he lived. Placed on sick leave after a heart attack in December, Dr. Bray resumed his University duties February 13.

He came to LSU as professor of animal husbandry in 1927 and was named head of animal industry research in 1931. Previously he served as dairy herd manager, Mississippi Agricultural and Mechanical College, Starkville, Miss., 1904-10; assistant professor and associate professor of animal husbandry, Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, Stillwater, Okla., 1910-14; associate professor of animal husbandry, Colorado Agricultural and Mechanical College, Fort Collins, Colo., 1915-27.

A native of Huntsville, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Bray received a bachelor of science in agriculture from Ontario Agricultural college. His master of science in agriculture was obtained at Mississippi A.& M. He worked on his Ph.D. at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo., and the University of Illinois, Champaign, Ill., receiving his doctorate from the latter.

Listed in "Who's Who in America", Dr. Bray was a member of Alpha Zeta, honorary agriculture fraternity, Pi Gamma Mu, social science honorary, Block and Bridle Club, American Genetics Association and the Baton Rouge Kiwanis club. He had served as president of Lambda Gamma Delta, honorary livestock-judging fraternity, vive-president of the Southern Livestock Association and official judge of the American Hampshire Sheep Association.

Dr. Bray was a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the American Association of Animal Production, Louisiana State Teachers Association, American Association of University Professors and the Masons.

An active member of the First Methodist Church, he was on the Board of Stewards and had been superintendent of its Sunday School for the past 12 years.

The co-author of "Practical Activities in Animal Husbandry", Dr. Bray had also written a number of agricultural bulletins. He was livestock advisor for "Western Farm Life" and former editor of the livestock page, "Oklahoma Farmer Stockman". His articles have appeared in "Breeders' Gazette", "Oklahoma Farmer Stockman", "Western Farm Life" and "Kimball's Dairy Farmer".

His wife was the late Edith Agnes Russell. Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. L.N. Stuckey, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Park.
