Charles MacVane was born in Perth, Scotland. His first wifes' name was Mary MacGregger. They left Scotland in 1812 and came to Prince Edward Island, Canada.The ship they were on was fired upon by an American ship. There ship however arrived safely and they settled on P.E. Island. Mary MacGregger died and he married agan to Mary MacKinon.
