Buried in Killargue. On his marriage registration, his residence was listed as Lugnaskiam while Katherine's was listed as Mullinaduffy. The witnesses were Patrick Feeney and Cecilia Rooney.
They lived in Manorhamilton which is northwest of Killargue. Their house was in the townland Killargue, civil parish of Killasnet in the barony of Rosclogher. In the 1901 census, the house is listed as having a thatched roof. According to Michael Kelly, John Feeney was a large man who worked on road construction. He supposedly also went to England in the winter to work. In the Griffith's Valuation which listed households in 1857, there were four Rooneys in Mullinaduffy townland. At that time, the spelling was Rooneen.
In the 1901 census, he is listed as a 50 year old who is farmer and a widower. His children living at home and are listed on the census of March 1901 are: Bridget 20; James 18; Kate 11; Maggie 9; Dora 6. In the 1911 census, he is listed as 68 year old. The children are Bridget 34; James 30; Dorah 16.
