!Buried in Smith-Woodard Cem. The picture of his tombstone is Picture #26. He
was a blacksmith of Irish descent.
!He signed his marriage bond with his mark since he could not read nor write.
In Biloxi Library, Marriage Records Book 7, page 354, gives his marriage date
as May 11, 1882 to Francis Cook. See Document Woodard001.
Helen Woodard, wife of Charles Woodard, said that Charles told her that our
grandfather, John Woodard came over from Germany with his father Jeriah Woodard
on a boat & he could remember eating a lot of bananas to keep from starving.
She thinks that Jeriah married again after coming to the USA & the rest of his
children were by another wife.
