On page 31 of the above book, under the title 'BOSTOCK LINE', appears the following entry:-

"1 OSMER, owner ofShipbrook, Davenham, Bostock, Audlem, Crewe,
all in Chester (Cheshire) County, England, as entered in
the "Domesday Book," 1080 A. D., as having held these
places at the time ofthe Conquest by William of Normandy.

2 HUGH.

3 RICHARD.

4 ROGER.

5 SIR GILBERT, (Cheshire Visitations, 1580 A. D.)
or SIR ADAM, (Ormerod's "History of Cheshire", Ed. 1882)

6 WILLIAM, (or RANDLE, RANNULPH), married Margaret, daughter
of Warren Vernon, Baron of Shipbrook."

7 WARREN, (WARINE), married Hawise, (Havissa),Countess of
Lincoln, in her own right, widow of Sir Roger de Quinci,
and daughter of Hugh Kevelioc, Palatine Earl of Chester.

8 SIR GILBERT(or HENRY) married Elinor, daughter of Robert,
Poole, of Cheshire.

9 SIR WILLIAM. Lord of Bostoc, Knight,(Tem. Henry III. 1216-1272),
married (1) Elizabeth, daughter of James, Lord Audley and Heleigh;
(2) Amice, a widow.
He was one of the jurors who tried David, brother of Llewellyn,
Prince of Wales."

I have chosen to give Sir William the surname BOSTOC.
